PIXPLOT LICENSE POLICY
----------------------

The PIXPLOT program and the associated documentation are
copyright (c) 1993 Jewell Technologies, Inc., all rights
reserved. The PIXPLOT software may not be circulated in any
incomplete or modified form, nor sold for profit, without
written permission of the author.
If you distribute this software to others, you are required
to distribute the ENTIRE package consisting of the following
files:

READ.ME
MANUAL.BAT
README.BAT
MANUAL.DOC
ORDER.DOC
JTIPRINT.DOC
LICENSE.DOC
JTIPRINT.DRV
NORMAL.FNT
PP.INI
COLUMBIA.PLT
You may NOT distribute the registered version of PIXPLOT
except as noted in your PIXPLOT license agreement. See the
ORDER.DOC for ordering information.
PERSONAL USE:
For personal use (away from the office and non-commercial),
PIXPLOT, may be freely used and shared with others. There
is no REQUIRED registration fee for non-commercial, non-
business, non-institutional, non-government personal use.
If you find the PIXPLOT package useful, you are encouraged
to register your copy:
INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION ... $45 (US).
The user who registers receives several benefits:
* Technical support by fax, mail, or BBS.
You can get help with any questions or problems you
encounter in using PIXPLOT.
* The opportunity to order the latest version of PIXPLOT and
PIXPLOT upgrades on disk directly from the author.
* The satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting the
development of good, affordable software.
INSTITUTIONAL/COMMERCIAL SITE LICENSE:
Any corporation, institution, government agency or business
wishing to use the PIXPLOT software in the course of its
internal business must purchase a SITE LICENSE. Any
individual wishing to use the PIXPLOT software in a
corporation, institution, government agency or business must
purchase a SITE LICENSE. Please contact us for terms.
Any corporation, institution, government agency or business
may use the unregistered shareware version of PIXPLOT only
for evaluation purposes and only for a thirty day period.
After the thirty day period, you must either register
PIXPLOT or discontinue its use. If you register PIXPLOT,
you may continue to use the unregistered PIXPLOT program
until you receive the registered version.
For the purposes of this license, a SITE is considered a
group of computers/users provided primary technical support
from one location. This definition of a SITE is subject to
change.
Each computer that uses PIXPLOT in any way requires
licensing.
DISTRIBUTION LICENSE:
Any corporation, institution, government agency or business
wishing to include PIXPLOT as an integral part of a software
and/or hardware package to be distributed externally must
purchase a DISTRIBUTION LICENSE.
Please write for terms providing details of expected
distribution numbers per year, and a description of the
software/hardware.
COMMERCIAL SALE:
Any software dealer or library may distribute the entire
PIXPLOT package in an unmodified form for a fee as long as
the price charged for the disk containing PIXPLOT does not
exceed US $10.00.
With this single exception, the sale of PIXPLOT or its parts
for profit, either alone or together with other software or
hardware, requires a licensing agreement possibly providing
for royalty payments. Please write for terms.
CUSTOM VERSIONS OF PIXPLOT:
Customized versions and private label versions of PIXPLOT
are available. Please write for terms describing your
requirements. Customized versions may take a few days to
several weeks or more to build.
UPGRADE POLICY FOR PIXPLOT:
Registered/licensed users of PIXPLOT may upgrade PIXPLOT to
the next DOT release (2.1 to 2.2, etc) for no charge by
downloading PIXPLOT from a BBS. Orders for a diskette
containing the current or next release incur a small fee
(see the ORDER.DOC). Pricing for an upgrade to the next
major release (2.x to 3.x) has not yet been established.
DISCLAIMER:
This software, PIXPLOT, is provided on an "as is" basis
without warranty of any kind, expressed or implied,
including but not limited to the implied warranties of
merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The
person using the software bears all risk as to the quality
and performance of the software. The author will not be
liable for any special, incidental, consequential, indirect
or similar damages due to loss of data or any other reason,
even if the author or an agent of the author has been
advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event
shall the author's liability for any damages ever exceed the
price paid for the license to use the software, regardless
of the form of the claim.
